Nuggies

Hello! I just put a new link on the site: "nuggies". It's at www.wvubcm/nuggies/. It's a little cartoon put together by some friends of mine (yes, I actually know each of them -- I feel like a friend of celebrities!). I think it's quite funny and even has some points of hilarity. I can't wait to see new episodes! The newest one, "Thanksgiving", is particularly good. I think once you visit the site, you'll be hooked like I am. Enjoy!

'Rescue is coming...'

Happy Thanksgiving! For my first official post (other than captions for some images), I want to display a section from the current monthly letter I send to partners in the ministry with which I work. I think it expresses well some of the things I'm presently thinking about that are helping bring the way I view the world into focus.

From my letter dated 11.15.05:

'There are a number of things in the past month that have begun to awake a newness in my heart that I think will (slowly but surely) enable me to live more and more of this Kingdom-life I talked about in my last prayer letter. One “signpost” for this kind of life is the new David Crowder* Band CD, “A Collision.” As a worship leader, I’m always looking for new great music and David Crowder has always been a source for this; so I couldn’t help asking for it for my birthday from my family. The more I explore the journey of the 21-track album, the more I realize that it’s more than just good music. It points as a whole to something that’s hard to describe, but that has something to do with, as quoted from the record’s liner notes, “the hope in a rescue that has come, the hope in a rescue that has found us, and the relentless hope in a greater rescue that is still coming – one that has not yet arrived but is no less present.” I’m also reading about these kinds of themes in Graham Tomlin’s book, The Provocative Church. It says that we, the body of Christ, the Church, have a role “as a sign of the true kingdom” and of “a reality that can be glimpsed and experienced – life under the rule of the true king.” I feel like I am being prepared to devote some good studying time to how to live this kind of life, in my music and my evangelism and everything else I do.'

More thoughts to come in the future I'm sure...

Foo Man Choo

The facial hair of Cameron King is ever changing, but possibly the most memorable is the "foo man choo." Posted by Picasa
